Rescheduling Diversity Strategic Planning Session

几周前, we sent an invitation to you to attend a strategic planning workshop on diversity, inclusion and equity on Saturday, 9月. 22. After much consideration, the co-chairs of the Diversity Strategic Planning Committee and I have decided we need to 帖子pone our strategic visioning workshop until the spring.

We realized that it will be more productive for us to hold this discussion in a few months, midway through the academic year, rather than at the beginning of the year. Among the issues impacting this decision are the recent addition of Anna Gonzalez as vice president for student affairs and the search for a new associate dean for the Office of Institutional Diversity. We believe our community can have a much more productive discussion if we give Anna an opportunity to become more acclimated to HMC and to fill the critical position of associate dean for OID. We hope to complete the hiring process by the beginning of the spring semester.
